Exciting Announcement from The Film Co-op!

The legendary independent filmmaker, John Sayles, will be in Huntsville on Friday, Febr. 8.

One of America's preeminent and best-respected independent filmmakers, John Sayles, has established a reputation for refusing to abandon his values in favor of becoming a studio filmmaker. As a result, his films tend to be rich, nuanced explorations of personal and political relationships.

Friday, Febr. 8 @ 1:00 PM -- Master Filmmaking Class

The Film Co-op is hosting a Master Filmmaking Class led by independent movie director John Sayles at 1 p.m. on Friday, Febr. 8. This class is free and open to the public. We anticipate over 100 students from area schools, so seating will be limited and on a first come/first serve (or standing) basis. We expect the class to last 60 to 90 minutes. It will be held at the Flying Monkey Arts Center in historic Lowe Mill, 2211 Seminole Drive.

Tickets may be purchased by going on-line to www.honeydripperhuntsville.com Click on the on-line ticket source.

The cast includes Danny Glover, Charles Dutton, Stacey Keach, LisaGay Hamilton, Mary Steenbergen, Vondie Curtis Hall, Ruben Santiago Hudson, Sean Patrick Thomas, Kel Mitchell, Ya Ya da Costa, R&B legend Mabel John, singer-songwriter Keb Mo, and Austin guitar sensation Gary Clark Jr.

The Premiere Party includes a musical performance by Microwave Dave and the Nukes, and feature Henderson Hudson (who is Danny Glover's piano playing hands in the movie) and Legendary Blues musician Eddie Shaw.
